At Vancouver Performing Stars, our Competitive Dance Team program gives dedicated dancers ages 7 to 17 the chance to excel in tap, jazz, and ballet.
Dancers are placed into one of four teams based on age, experience, and skill level, and take part in weekly training, performances, and competitions throughout the year. Whether your dancer is a seasoned performer or stepping onto the competition stage for the first time, we're here to nurture their growth, creativity, and genuine love for dance.
Each team attends 3 dance competitions, performs in the VPS Nutcracker and Spring Showcase, and enjoys other performance and training opportunities throughout the year.
Every team dancer takes part in one week of the Dance Team Summer Intensive.
July 27 – 31 or August 24 – 28
Each main team trains multiple disciplines. Tap, jazz, and ballet form the core, with weekly hours and competition schedules scaled to age and grade.
We are excited to offer ADAPT Jazz and Dynamic Ballet Examinations for our Dance Team dancers. ADAPT is an internationally recognized syllabus that gives dancers a structured pathway for technical development and the chance to earn official certification as they progress through each level of training.
Participation is optional, but highly recommended for dancers who are committed to technical excellence, value goal-oriented learning, and want to track and celebrate their progress through a recognized achievement program.
